General objective:

Co-ordination and facilitation of North Atlantic research activity through development of regional models, data synthesis review, rescue and meta-analysis of data, coordination of national programmes and development of new programmes.

Current priorities:

•  Explore linkages between the North Atlantic, Arctic and Nordic Seas and the North Atlantic Shelves as a basis for identifying potential research initiatives linking these Systems. 
•  To develop an integrated basin scale science plan, jointly funded, and co-ordinating the research activities of the EU and North American countries to resolve the impact of climatic processes on ecosystems of the North Atlantic Basin and shelf seas: Integrating and advancing observation, monitoring, and prediction
